Patrick Deshaye is a studio figure artist in Portland, Oregon. He is devoted to creating artworks which reflect his uniquely emphatic visual experience of the human figure, especially with regard to the interplay of light, form and contour. He works in a variety of drawing and painting media but develops his own individual approaches and techniques in handling each, resulting in a very recognizable and distinctive representational style. He is frequently commissioned to create figure portraits, occasionally teaches drawing, and his work appears in numerous private collections.
The three female figures by Patrick Deshaye that exhibited at L Maynard Galleries in Las Vegas were each drawn in sepia crayon, from professional art models in three, 3-hour sessions each. Other representations of his fine work are available upon request from Cybele, whose paths crossed when she herself was an art model, posing as an angel. They became frequent artistic collaborators, their different styles complementing each other's.
